Lumbini Wins NPL Trophy

Lumbini Lions won their first Nepal Premier League title with a dominant six-wicket victory over Sudurpaschim Royals in the Season 2 final at Kirtipur. After opting to bat, Sudurpaschim were bowled out for a record-low 85, with captain Rohit Paudel taking a hat-trick and finishing with 3 for 12. Sher Malla and Ruben Trumpelmann also claimed three wickets each as Lumbini controlled the match.

Lumbini chased the target in just nine overs, led by Dinesh Adhikari’s explosive 42 off 13 balls. The title capped a six-match winning streak and a dramatic turnaround for Lumbini, who had finished last in the previous season, while Sudurpaschim lost their second consecutive NPL final.
